It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Bruce Porter, peacefully at Sunnybrook Veterans Centre, Toronto, Ontario. Veteran of WWII and retired member of the Metropolitan Toronto Police force. Loving husband of the late Eveline Porter, and beloved father to John (Cheryl), Tom(Gayle),Ted, Jeff (Sheila) and Evie. Cherished grandfather to Colleen, Sandi, John, Megan, Cyndy, Robert, Heather, Christopher and Caroline and his many greatgrandchildren. Brother-in-law to Michael Francis Coulis and Georgia Peterson. Predeceased by his parents, Henry and Catherine Porter, his sister Ruth Coulis, and his daughter-in-law Heather. The family would like to thank our father’s care team and “second family” at Sunnybrook Veterans Centre, with special thanks to Mark, Simon, Christine and Dr. David Shergold. A Private Service will be held at Ward Funeral Home followed by private interment at Prospect Cemetery. There will be a link available for those wishing to watch the service from the comfort of their home. Those wishing to pay their respects may make a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Toronto.
