Rita Galluzzo

January 14, 1951 – June 30, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Rita Galluzzo, surrounded by the love of her family on June 30th, 2024 at the age of 73. Rita was born on January 14, 1951 in Serra San Bruno, Italy to parents Francesco Domenico and Maria Teresa Galluzzo, with whom she is now reunited.

Cherished sister of Esther (Roberto, predeceased), and Elena (Antonio, predeceased). Loving aunt Cindy (Tony), Alex (Nelia), Daniela, Patricia (predeceased) and Deborah (predeceased). Devoted great-aunt to Andrew, Matthew (Alyssa), Lauren (Lucas), Adam, Joshua, Lucas, Sophia and Lucas. Great-great-aunt to Madelynn and Antonio-Roberto.

Rita moved to Toronto, Canada as a young teenager with her parents and pursued high school, enjoying her early life here. She loved to travel all over Europe, the Caribbean, Canada and the United States of America.

She loved baking intricate and delicious treats for her family. Rita was devout to her faith, and enjoyed spending time studying her bible and relaxing to worship music. 

Rita will be remembered for her kind spirit, big heart and her gentleness with those she loved and cared for. She was always supportive and generous to her family, especially her nieces and nephews, and loved to laugh. 

Adam, Joshua and Lucas will forever cherish their memories of the many Toronto adventures they had with Rita.

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home (4671 Highway 7, Woodbridge) on July 5, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, July 6, 2024 in the Ward Funeral Home Chapel (4671 Highway 7, Woodbridge), at 10:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Assumption Cemetery.
