Richard Rochester
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Rochester peacefully at Bethell House surrounded by his family. Richard was predeceased by Evelyn, his loving wife, of 59 years and survived by his four children, Lynn, David (Sue), Kim (Steve), and Bruce. Lovingly remembered by his seven grandchildren, Ryan, Jenna, Kayla, Emily, Hayley, Tara, and Kyle. Beloved by his nephews Billy Armstrong and Lee Robson.
Dad was a kind and patient man who always put the welfare of his family first and foremost. He set a true example of how to be a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Though Dad spent the majority of his life in Canada, he never forgot his English roots traveling back each year to enjoy a pint at his local pub, the Black Horse.
Granddad took great pleasure in playing Santa Claus every year for his grandchildren. He was a colourful story teller, constantly entertaining everyone with his stories of living through WW2 as a child and his immigration to Canada. He started life in Canada as a farmhand in Belfountain, moving onto the TTC, and eventually retiring from Air Canada after 31 years. The family wishes to thank Bethell House for their kind and compassionate care they provided to Dad over the last several weeks.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Bethell House Hospice in memory of Richard:
