Richard Delano Firth Felix
June 10, 1936 - April 15, 2023
Richard, aka Sir Richard of Peel, Dirty Dickie, and Grandpa Donkey passed away at Brampton Civic Hospital with friends and family at his side. He died as he lived, on his terms, doing what he liked.
He was a veteran of the Korean War and was wounded in battle. He joined the Army at 14 and left just before he turned 18. He traveled much of the world, loved seeing the Canadian Rockies by train and ran a food bank in Brampton until he was unable to. He loved children and hated the inequities people faced in society. He enjoyed doing taxes for others with no charge and loved playing with numbers in his head. His favourite movie was The Ten Commandments. He loved making raspberry Jam and giving it away to people he cared for.
He is predeceased by his loving wife Florence (nee MacDonald).
He was the loving father of Richard A, Dolores (Roger), Michael and Gerald.
Grandfather to Jasmin (Blair), Maude and Charlotte.
Great Grandfather to Maxwell and Jewel, Brother to Robert and Jackie.
Predeceased by his sisters Geraldine, Esther, Mary, Amanda, Gloria, Betty, Cecilia, and Daisy, brothers Tommy, Peter and Murphy. He will be missed by his loving friend Mary.
Friends will be received at Ward Funeral Home, 52 Main Street South (Hwy 10), Brampton, Ontario on Thursday, April 20th from 12-3 and 6-9pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church, 115 Vodden Street East, on Friday, April 21st at 11am. Burial will be at Assumption Catholic Cemetery, 6933 Tomken Road, Mississauga.
