It is with much sorrow that we share the peaceful passing of Reginaldo Condó on December 8th, 2022, after a valiant and courageous battle with lung cancer.
He is terribly missed by his loving wife of 60 years Maria Stella (née Albanese), his children (and their spouses) Angela(Patrick), Josie(Roger), Gerri(Laurie), and his beloved son Michael, whom he has now joined in heaven. Adored by his grandchildren Cristina, Erica, Laura, James, Marissa and Michael. Lovingly remembered by his surviving siblings Annunziata, Concettina, Alfredo, Marisa and is fondly missed by all remaining family and friends.
Reginaldo was born in San Giorgio Morgeto (RC), Italy on March 4th, 1939 to Michelangelo and Mariangela (Raco). His early years were filled with imagination and adventure and spoke proudly of his time served as an air traffic controller in the Italian military.
After a courtship that spanned over a childhood and an ocean, he arrived in Canada in 1963 to wed the love of his life and together they built a wonderful life devoted to their family. As a father, he will be proudly remembered as loving, devoted, supportive and always a kid at heart – ready to explore and take us on adventures. He was a role model to all who knew him, especially his children, teaching us the lessons of life through his wisdom and by his example. He was a kind soul, a gentleman that was respected by all and was respectful to all.
Professionally, we are so proud of all he accomplished. Although he trained as an accountant in Italy, Reginaldo became a pioneer in the early days of the computer industry, watching technology evolve over the 42 years he worked as a Systems Programmer/Analyst. From patch panels to punch cards to diskettes and the evolution from main frames to PCs – he experienced it all. His learning journey never ended. In 1973, his expertise in the field presented him with the opportunity to start the first computer processing centre in southern Italy and he accepted that challenge for over 4 years giving the whole family the experience of a lifetime.
He will be greatly missed.
Friends and family are welcome to attend the funeral mass on Saturday December 17th, 2022, 10:30am at St. Mary’s Church, 66 Main Street, Brampton. Entombment to follow at Assumption Cemetery.
