Reginald Reuben Louis Van Belle passed away unexpectedly on Sunday March 1st, 2020 at the age of 56 in London Ontario. He was surrounded by his family and friends. Reg was born on July 10th, 1963 in Delhi Ontario. He is predeceased by his loving parents Eduard and Valrena Van Belle (nee Castella); his maternal Grandparents Reginald Sullivan and Megan Castella (nee Evans) and his paternal Grandparents Ludovicus (Louis) and Maria Van Belle (nee Aper). All those that knew Reg, knew that he had a big heart and wonderful sense of humor. As a child, Reg developed a knack for doing impressions. By far, his Donald Duck impression was one that we all remember and will cherish. Reg had the gift of making people laugh with his quick wit and sense of humor. Even in the midst of sadness and trials, Reg always had the sweetest things to say that would lighten the air and bring a smile to those in need. He had a fascination on how things worked and tinkering with electronics was a hobby for him. He would spend hours doing models, taking things apart and putting them back together again. Boxes and boxes later he would create and invent things. His fascinating conversations about travel, trivia and facts would keep you captive. You would get a glimpse of the person behind those beautiful blue eyes by just visiting with him. Reg also loved the outdoors. You could call him at any time of the day or night, finding him on a bike ride. Winter or summer, he would find the time for exercise and fresh air. His primary enjoyment in the outdoors was going fishing. Nothing soothed his spirit more than that. His boys have fond memories of these such times. Reg had some great fishing tales to go along with his fishing adventures. Those that love Reg, knew that he struggled with addiction for a long time. The losses he endured at a young age became his burdens that he couldn’t shake off . Reg fought the good fight. He worked hard to keep his addictions at bay, but the battle on earth was real for him. He will always be remembered with the utmost love by all that truly knew him. His kind and gentle spirit will always live on in our hearts.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18
16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
