Rebecca Jane Warren
Passed away at Humber River Hospital in Toronto on May 11th after suffering prolonged health struggles. Despite her illness she loved life and tried her best to live it to the fullest.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter April McDade, her sister Michelle MacIntyre and her brother John Warren. Rebecca was predeceased by her mother in 2000 and her father in 2006.
Rebecca was born in Nova Scotia and loved the ocean. Although she lived much of her adult life in Ontario, part of her heart was always "back home" in the Maritimes and much of her family remained in Nova Scotia. This meant there were always many miles between them but that didn't stop her from loving them dearly. Her regular phone calls also included those to her brother John to make sure he was home safe from his long days in the truck. Knowing he was 'safe and sound' gave her peace to sleep.
She also kept in touch with many on Facebook which gave her much pleasure especially when she became unable to get out as often. Her friends, her family, her love of Bingo and ultimately her love of life gave her the inspiration to be the outgoing and caring person she was to so many.
She will be remembered by her former work colleagues including her dear friend Mary with whom she worked for over 30 years.
The family invite you to join them at Ward Funeral Home, Weston Road on Thursday from 5pm to 8pm for visitation and opportunity to share stories and celebrate the life of Rebecca Warren.
Special thanks to the nursing staff at Humber River Hospital ICU Ward especially Maryann and Nash who ensured we were always kept informed. Thank you to our family physician Dr. Swanson who cared for her for over 11 years.
Thank you to the homecare nurses Evelyn and Shereza from HME for your support and care during these difficult days.
Our appreciation goes out to all our dear friends, family and neighbours who did so much for our beloved mother and sister. There are too many of you to mention by name but we will always know and appreciate the many kind words and gestures that came our way. With heartfelt thanks, April, Michelle and John & family.
