Son of Jane and Bill Stanton and Husband of Katherine Stanton (Merry). He leaves behind 3 sons Dr.Tom and Julie Stanton (Rennie) , Ray and Stacie Stanton (Moffatt) and Bill and Traci Stanton (Buchinski). He was a proud grandfather of 8 amazing grandchildren , Will, Maddy, Meg, Charlie, Jane, Matthew, Allison and Keally.
Born Christmas Day 1937 in Pittsburgh he lived an authentic Canadian life. After attending Appleby College and then MacDonald College in Quebec he embarked on a 56 year marriage to Katherine Merry. They moved to Caledon to live a life as a hobby farmer and raise his family.
Cliff used his incredible personal and business skills in a sales career with Swift Adhesives and then built a successful manufacturing business (Commerical Babcock Truck Bodies) with 2 of his sons by his side.
Cliff had a passion for farming , primitive painted Canadiana Antiques and Muskoka Antique wooden boats. He was an expert resource and custodian of some of Canada’s best antique painted furniture and boats. His home reflected the best of our country’s earliest heritage craftsmanship and museum quality pieces.
He was always most comfortable on a farm and in the field with a herd of beef cattle where he loved to share his perspective with anyone who shared this passion.
