Pompeo Troiani

It is with sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Pompeo Troiani at the age of 90 on Monday, September 18, 2017. Dearly beloved husband of 64 years to the late Sandra Troiani, father of Anne Marie and Frank, daughter in law Nancy, proud grandfather of Cristina (Michael), Richard (Jennifer), Daniel (Angelina) and Justin (Victoria). Extremely proud great grandfather to Jacob, Ava and Giacomo. Brother to Viviano, Pina and Maria Domenica. Will be greatly missed by their long time friend Adua Innocente.

He immigrated to Canada from Pescina, Italy in June 1951. The following year, Pompeo, his young bride Sandra and his brother in law Carmine Botticchio started a retail grocery business of which he was a valuable contributor to their success. Pompeo and the love of his life Sandra travelled the world and lived life to its fullest. His true passion was to spend summers in his hometown of Pescina, Italy.

Pompeo was a one of a kind person, an astute businessman who was as sharp as a whip, a loyal and trusted friend to all, and was greatly respected by everyone he met. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends from Canada, Italy and Florida.

His family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Donato Spensieri and his staff for their continued care. They are very grateful to his caregivers Loida and Marisa for their dedicated support.

Friends and family will be gathering to celebrate Pompeo's life on Thursday, September 21 from 2-4 and 6-9 at Ward Funeral Home, 4671 Highway #7, Woodbridge. Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 22 at 10:00am at St. Peter's Church (100 Bainbridge Ave.). In lieu of flowers a donation in Pompeo's memory may be made to the Schulich Heart Centre at Sunnybrook Hospital.
