In Loving Memory of Pietro Luigi Dametto September 30, 1939 – November 14, 2024

Pietro Luigi Dametto, born in Salvarosa, Treviso, Italy, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Pietro was predeceased by his parents, Giosue and Norma Dametto, his brother Bruno (Iolanda), and sister Lidia (Olivo) Cattapan.

He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife, Adriana; his children, David (Stephanie) and Sonia (Kevin) Brushett; and his loving grandchildren, Brooke, Joshua, Kristin, Nolan, and Lauren. Pietro is also survived by his siblings, Silvano (Elvi) Dametto, Maria (Danilo) Soligo, and Simone (Luciana) Dametto, as well as his brothers-in-law, John (Janet) Bot and Rick (Sandy) Bot, and many nieces and nephews.

In 1960, he embarked on a journey to a new life in Canada, joining his brother and lifelong best friend, Bruno. Upon arriving in Canada, Pietro quickly found work as a bricklayer and later became a stonemason at Islington Nurseries, where he was treated as family for nearly 30 years. A devoted family man, he took great pride in all of his family’s accomplishments.

Pietro’s passions included hunting, fishing, and most importantly spending time with his family at their cottage on Kushog Lake. He especially cherished his annual moose and deer hunting trips, where camaraderie was always the highlight. An avid gardener, Pietro took great pride in tending to his flowers and vegetables.
