Pierre Girard

Our family announces, with great sadness, the sudden and tragic passing of Pierre Girard on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at the age of 53.
Beloved husband of almost 26 years to Claire (nee Lafontaine). Loving father to Alex and Lianne. Cherished brother of Frank (Barbara), Louis (Gini), James (Lucie). He will be dearly missed by his nephews and nieces Alison (Todd), Ted (Marnie), Joe (Stefania), David (Lyndsay), Michael, Jaime (Matt), Andrew (April), Clint, Samantha, Zachary and Elizabeth as well as “little” nephews and nieces Natalie, Samuel and Henry. Survived by brothers-in-law Pierre Lafontaine and Perry Baumgardt, sister-in-law Ann Girard (nee Hughes) as well as mother-in-law Gertrude Lafontaine (nee Gagnon).
Pierre was predeceased by his devoted parents Armand and Eva Girard (nee Verge), beloved sister MaryAnn Girard Baumgardt and father-in-law Sam Lafontaine.
Pierre was born and lived in Oakville all his life. He was a successful business owner, an avid fisherman, a loving father and husband and a loyal friend to many.
Celebration of Life for Pierre will be held at Ward Funeral Home in Oakville, 109 Reynolds Street, on Monday October 14, 2013 at 12:00 noon, reception following. Visitation Sunday, October 13, 1 to 4 pm and Monday, October 14, 10 am to 12.
