Loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother passed away suddenly at home Saturday, March 5, 2022.
Born in Bracebridge to the late Harold Patterson and Maizie Scott, Phil grew up in Oshawa.
He leaves behind his wife of 47 years Elizabeth Ann Male, son Stephen, daughter-in-law Tracy and grandchildren Jordan and Alexandra. He will be missed by his siblings, Kathleen (Geoff), Mary Lou (Allen), Ruth Anna (Mark), Joanne (Lesley) and Julia (Joanne) and many nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by his sisters Maizie Joy and Colleen, and brother-in-law Douglas. Phil always had a kind word and a smile for everyone. Generous and loving, he touched many lives and will be missed by many.
Phil began his 28 year career with Bell Canada as technician on the Oshawa frame, moving on to become a manager and technical writer for Bell Northern Research in Ottawa. From there Phil became manager of Bell’s Walker Drive, Brampton office. Phil created computer-based training and was an instructor for Bell Institute for Professional Development. He developed lasting friendships there, always looking forward to September Weekend spending time with former colleagues. He retired from Bell as a manager in Bell Customer Solutions.
After retiring in 2001 he pursued his love of photography, gardening, and the outdoors.
