Peter Dewar Watt passed away suddenly on Monday, April 29th at the Bough Beeches Senior Residence in Mississauga. Peter was born in 1937 in East York and was a proud alumni of Leaside Secondary School. He graduated from U of T with a degree in Science and went on to graduate from McGill University with a Masters in Geology. His passion for rocks was contagious and remained until his passing.
In 1965 he married Janet McGibbon and together they had 3 children, Susan, Peter and Candice and as a family lived in many mining towns across Canada including Sudbury, ON, Thompson, MB , Flin Flon MB and Chibougamau, QC.
Peter remained married until Janet's passing in 1990. In 2000 Peter met Maureen and they married in 2002 and spent a happy 20 years together until Maureen past away in August 2022.
Peter will be remembered for many passions but particularly his love of learning, love of hiking, love of singing, love of the Toronto Argos and Maple Leafs and love of geology.
Peter is survived by his daughter Susan (Jeff), son Peter T. (Elena), daughter Candice (Scott), sister Marion, step-daughters Lucy (Peter) and Shirley (Keith), their children and grandchildren and fur grandchildren Riley and Bailey. He is pre-deceased by his twin sister Pat (1937-2020).
