The family and friends of Paula Victoria Gardin Judge mark with sorrow her passing to the next life on the evening of September 4, 2017 at the young age of 57.

Vibrant, talented, one-of-a-kind, brilliant, beautiful and chock-full of humour and wit – these are just a few of the numerous qualities Paula possessed and was admired for throughout her rich life. Many people close to her will remember her as a free spirit and one of the brightest personalities in their life.

Paula was the loving, proud mother of Hayley and Spencer, beloved wife of Michael, and the daughter of Bette and the late Joe Gardin. She is predeceased by her brother Joey Gardin. She will be greatly missed by her “baby,” King Charles Cavalier Spaniel, Piper.

Paula was immensely loved by a wide range of friends. A true pillar in the Oakville community, whether it was friends from her longstanding involvement with Appleby College, the Oakville Club or the Oakville Galleries – or her friends through the jazz and music community – Paula was adored by many.

Paula had the endearing quality of seeing people for who they truly were, regardless of background or circumstance. She truly saw the good in everyone, and made everyone feel special.

Paula was passionate about many things including modern art, fundraising for many different causes, writing music, testing out the hottest new restaurants and fashion (Chanel bags). One of her more recent passions and callings was studying at the Chopra Centre in Carlsbad, California, where she achieved her primordial sound meditation certification, making even more friends and a deeper connection with the universe.

A world-traveller, Paula had many friends around the globe yet will be especially missed by her friends in Nova Scotia, where she and her family recently built a cottage and spent their summers enjoying the Atlantic sea air, seafood, walks on Crescent beach and riding around in her ’67 Camaro – one of Paula’s favourite past times.

Visitation will be held at Ward Funeral Home, 109 Reynolds Street, Oakville on Wednesday, September 6th from 2p.m.-4p.m. and 7p.m.-9p.m. At Paula’s request, there will be a private family funeral. At a later date, the family will honour Paula with a celebration of life at Oakville Galleries, where Paula served as a long-standing director.

The family would like to thank Dr. Greg Jeffries and Dr. John McPhaden and his team at Oakville Trafalgar Hospital, and Dr. Christine Chen and her team at Princess Margaret Hospital.
