Flumian, Paul Austin
Passed peacefully with his wife Madeline Zito and daughter Simona Flumian by his side on December 27, 2015 at Toronto General Hospital. His courage was remarkable, matching his passion for life. Always with a smile, a kind and gentle man, he will be remembered for his strength and optimism. He loved to travel sharing his humour and kindness with all those he met. As one of the founders of Villa Leonardo Gambin (168 bed long term care facility) he was appointed Executive Director of its charity. He would say his proudest moments were the birth of his daughter Simona, his work at Villa Gambin and receiving the Queen’s Jubilee Medal for his commitment to the community. Paul is predeceased by his mother Luigia Colledan and father Ruggero Flumian. He leaves behind his brother George Flumian (Maryantonett Flumian), brother-in-law Peter Zito (Molly Zito) and niece and nephew Peter and Melina Zito. We would like to thank Dr. Antonio Finelli and all of the incredible and compassionate staff at Princess Margaret Hospital and Toronto General Hospital. Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 4671 Hwy 7 (west of Pine Valley Dr.), Woodbridge, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Clare of Assisi Church., 150 St. Francis Avenue, Woodbridge on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 9:30am. Entombment to follow at Glendale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Dr. Finelli at Princess Margaret’s Genitourinary Clinic, and/or Villa Gambin.
