She is also survived by her sons Brendon and wife Xhemile, Chris, Matt and wife Rachel, daughter Samantha and husband Mike Pietras. Ever the host, the fundraiser, the teacher, the sister, the spouse, the mother, the mentor, the friend.
She would jump at the opportunity to volunteer her house for a party or gathering. Frantically preparing for days to get things in order to make sure the event went off without a hitch. From weddings, showers, birthdays, to funerals, there was a good chance you knew you were going to Pat’s house.
She loved to dress up. Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, formal, informal, nails always done, some of the best hairdos of all time, she was beautiful. She is beautiful.
For over two decades, if you tried to find Pat in the month of May, you could be sure she was preparing for the George Syme Fun Fair. In total she raised well over $250,000 for her school. Her own free time aside, she also managed to influence those around her to give back. Her classroom was filled with love, patience, and activities meant to enrich the lives of her kids. She would fight tooth and nail for every advantage her kids deserved.
Her family was her life. She was always there when you needed her. There are no words to describe the amount of pride she felt as she watched the little ones play and the bigger ones grow into adults. If you eaves-dropped on her conversations with friends, you would no-doubt hear her bragging about her children, grandchildren, and eventually great-grandchildren, ever eager to share a photo or story.
Pat and Larry shared close to 50 years together. Their devotion was evident in the little things they did for each other. The sweet gifts, the elaborate gestures, and the way they danced to fast songs at weddings. Their love is undeniable.
If you had the pleasure of knowing Pat, you know what means to be truly blessed.
This world was a far better place with her in it…
