Ottavio Scarcello

It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Ottavio Scarcello, on February 22, 2025, at the age of 87. He passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family and the kind souls that have cared for him for the past nine years at Villa Leonardo Gambin. 

Ottavio was the epitome of gentleness and kindness. He was the heart of his family. 

 He will forever be missed by his loving and devoted wife Anna-Maria, of 65 years. Cherished by his children Jerry (Sonia), Mario (Donna) and Rosanna (Romeo). Adored as a proud Nonno to his grandkids Sala, Seville, Alex (Emily), Alyssa, Adamo and Isabella. Dear Bisnonno to beautiful Nora. 

He is now reunited in heaven with his beloved parents, Giuseppe and Agata, his treasured sister Marietta, and his adored eldest brothers, Pasquale, Eugenio, Giovanni, Mario, Francesco, Alberino, and Ettore. 

Born in Laurignano, Cosenza, Italy. The youngest child of nine kids, and the eighth boy of the family. He emigrated to Canada in 1957, to seek a better life and continue his career as a mason. He worked tirelessly for 3 years until he called over his then-fiancée Anna-Maria to join him in Canada. They married on February 13th, 1960. 

His gentle manner, humility, and kindness will forever be remembered. May he rest in peace, and forever in our hearts and prayers.

Friends and family are invited to gather at Ward Funeral Home (4671 Highway 7, Woodbridge, Ontario), on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Padre Pio Church (5500 Major MacKenzie Drive West, Kleinburg, Ontario). Private interment to follow at Glendale Funeral Home & Cemetery.
