Orlanda Saraceno

February 10, 1930 — March 6, 2015

Orlanda Saraceno

Orlanda (Murdocca) Saraceno was born in Gioiosa Marina, Reggio, Calabria, Italy on February 10th, 1930. She peacefully entered the gates of Heaven on March 6th, 2015 at 3:22pm, surrounded by Love, her children and grandchildren, and other loving family members.
A loving mother and homemaker, Orlanda was an excellent hostess who enjoyed celebrating her home with many family members and friends. She especially loved creating beautiful wedding gowns for the lovely young women who were getting married, as she was an amazing dressmaker for many years. Over the years she collected a large library of books and was often referred to as "the woman who is always reading". She also loved to watch Romance movies along with sitcoms, "Everybody Loves Raymond" being one of her favourites. Her favourite television channel was 'Telelatino' for the Italian programs.
Orlanda had an unwavering faith in God and was part of the Roman Catholic religion. She had a lovely collection of rosaries and religious icons which she treasured over the years. She was an authentic peacemaker and was able to love and forgive with ease. She was a very classy woman with great moral values which she passed onto anyone that was lucky to have her in their lives.
Orlanda was predeceased by her loving husband of 73 years, Vincenzo Saraceno. She was also predeceased by her two of her sons, Pasquale and Massimo, and her two sisters, Evelina Mazzone and Emelina Mazzone and her brother, Aurelio Murdocca. Orlanda is survived by her two sons Novello Saraceno, and Luciano Saraceno and his wife Ivana, and her two daughters Anacleta Zappia, and Rosemary Gullo and her husband Gregorio . She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, Rosemary and Gregorio's children - Joanne Gullo Schiafone, Paolo Gullo and Gregorio Gullo, jr., Novello's children - Vincenzo Saraceno and Orlanda Saraceno, Anacleta's children - Tania Zappia, Mark Zappia and Robert Zappia, Luciano's children - Michelle Saraceno, Amanda Saraceno, Lucky Saraceno and Miles Saraceno, and Massimo's children - twins - Anthony and Tijana Saraceno, and twins - Asia and Elletra Saraceno. She had two great-grandchildren, (children of Joanne and Michael Schiafone) Allegra and Massimo Schiafone.
