Norman Ritchie

RITCHIE, Norman Robert - Peacefully on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at the Etobicoke General Hospital, surrounded by family and friends. Beloved son of Doris and the late Frances (Frank) Ritchie. Norm leaves behind his brothers Ken and Gordon (Valerie), his nieces Lisa (Mike) and Marnie as well as his great nieces Sarah and Kaitlyn. He will be sadly missed by Robert Townshend and the entire Townshend Family. M.W. Brother Norman Ritchie was Grand Secretary of the Grand Orange Lodge of Canada from 1974-2002. He was editor of 'The Sentinel', the official publication of the Orange Association in Canada during those years as well. Norm held too many positions within the Orange Association to list, but was most proud of holding the position of Financial Secretary of Victory LOL No. 137 in Toronto. He also served on the board of Orange Insurance for many years. As well as being involved in the Orange Association, Norm was President of the Downsview, Yorkview and York South-Weston Progressive Conservative Associations. Throughout his life, Norm was always an active member of his church, The Salvation Army Etobicoke Temple. Visitation at Ward Funeral Home, 'Weston Chapel', 2035 Weston Road, Friday, June 18 from 1-3 p.m. Service to follow in the chapel. Private cremation.
