Norma Ann Morris

Norma Ann Morris passed away peacefully on August 21st, 2019 at Bridgepoint Hospital in Toronto in her 83rd year. At her side was her beloved husband Henry Campbell Morris. Norma was born on September 4th, 1936 in Branford Ontario to Jean and James Brown. She married the love of her life, Henry on October 1st, 1960.

Norma is survived by Henry and her four children: Sue Morris and her son Max and grand-daughter Mia; Patty Morris; Jen and her husband Zeb Morais and their daughter Ella; and her son, Andrew Morris and his wife Janice Andrews and the many dogs that belong to the Morris family collective. Norma is also survived by members of her brother’s Brown families and her sister Beverly Maddens family. Family was core to who Norma was and she cherished traditional holidays as ways to bring us all together for many of her fabulous meals and baking.

Norma set for us all an example of strength, entrepreneurship, independence and fortitude. After focusing on raising her four children for the first 17 years of her marriage, Norma proved herself an adept saleswoman in Stratford and then Iroquois Falls where she started her own women’s retail store, aptly named Norma’s. While at the same time she earned her real estate license and soon became the leading real estate agent in Iroquois Falls for about 20 years.

Norma and Henry’s most cherished times were the 30 summers they spent at the glorious Watabeag Lake where many hours were idled away on the beach and deck in her ‘reading room’. Aside from being a voracious reader, Norma was an accomplished sewer, quilter, and baker. Over her 14 years in Toronto she loved her many date nights with Henry to the symphony, movies and Starbucks. Despite ongoing health challenges, nothing stopped mom from being a social butterfly which started with her sorority sisters in Montreal, their bridge club and their weekly social group in Toronto. Mom’s energy level and thirst to get out and keep busy was an inspiration to us all. We miss you terribly.
