It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Nora “Louise” MacKay, 78, who died unexpectedly at her home in Brampton on February 24th, 2019.
Louise is predeceased by her sisters Gertrude, Ivy, Mary, & Jean, her brothers Jim, Bill, & Carl, her son “little” Ernie, and her infant daughter Margaret Ann (stillborn). She is survived by her sister Jessie, her children Steven & Linda, and her grandchildren Micheal (Elena) & Tara (Paul).
Louise was born February 16th, 1941 in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia to George Drover and Annie Holloway. She was a dedicated technician at Nortel for many years, a “pioneer”, as she liked to say, of circuit boards. More recently, she was proud to be a greeter at her local Wal-Mart.
In her personal life, she was a loving mother, a devoted grandmother, and a loyal friend. She loved Elvis, anything Country & Western, and CNN, and she never met a Santa figurine that she couldn’t find a home for. She will be deeply missed by her many friends, family (including all her nieces and nephews), and all who knew her.
Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home "Brampton Chapel", 52 Main Street South (Hwy 10), Bramptton from 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 2nd, 2019, followed by a service to begin at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to CAMH (Centre for Addiction and Mental Health). Please visit the Book Of Memories at www.wardfuneralhome.com
