NICOLAS (NICO) THOMAS IUGLIO It is with deep sorrow and profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Nico at his home on August 23, 2013. Just shy of his 19th birthday, Nico leaves behind a heartbroken family who will miss him dearly. To his loving Mom and Dad, Marie (nee Longo) and Danny, Nico was a gift they will cherish in their hearts forever. His mom was his biggest advocate and Nico was his dad's shadow. Nico's parents were very proud of him and will treasure every moment of happiness his tender life brought to their family. Nico will always be remembered for his immense compassion and kindness towards others. To his older sister, Sabrina, Nico was a source of inspiration. His dedication and patience encouraged her to try new things and to work harder. To his younger brother, Joey, Nico was a best friend with whom he shared a love of the outdoors where they excelled at water and snow sports. The three siblings complemented each other's strengths and shared an avid interest in dirt biking on the farm, where they would frequently ride together. Nonna Zina Longo is comforted that her grandson is at rest with his Nonno, Tommy Longo who will take him by his hand as he did when he was a young boy. Nonni Nick and Letizia (Tish) Iuglio, along with great- grandmother Vera, will remember Nico as "such a good boy". Nico leaves Aunts and Uncles: Anthony and Gay Longo, Joey and Donna Longo, Rosie and Bryan Yeatman and Margaret and Paul Galati with heavy hearts and fond memories of their quiet and shy nephew, a model of respect who was never too shy to offer a helping hand. Nico has left a footprint on the hearts of his cousins: Thomas, Jesse, Nick, Lucas, Mitchell, Dayna, Jacilyn, Justin, Daniel, Riana, Anthony, Michael and Stefano who will remember him for his love of food, quick wit and clever sense of humour. Along with his trademark sheepish grin, he would graciously help finish the meals that his cousins could not manage themselves. Nico was a student at TD Christian School where he created wood crafting masterpieces displayed throughout his home and shared his love of trucks through drawing. His hard work ethic was evident in everything he did. Nico was about to start college where he would nurture his love of the outdoors and share his talents through a career in landscaping. As a young man, Nico's generous and loving nature was always respectful, considerate and helpful, ensuring to please those who loved and treasured him. With a quiet shrug of his shoulders, his humbleness was unspoken, yet his gentle spirit spoke quietly. To us, Nico was someone special, Someone set apart. His memory will live forever, Engraved within our hearts. The family will receive friends and family at the WARD FUNERAL HOME, Woodbridge Chapel, 4671 Highway 7 (between Pine Valley and Islington), on Tuesday, August 27th from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 28th at 10 a.m. at St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, 150 Saint Francis Avenue, Woodbridge.
