It is with great sadness and very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father Nicola Salvatore Buonerba, born on April 19, 1933 (Massafra, Italy). Nicola passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones on December 19, 2022 (Toronto, Ontario) at the age of 89. Devoted and loving husband of Camilla (Albano) Buonerba (2015). Loving father of Angie Fonseca (John), Nancy Buonerba, and Anna Dermott (Michael). Cherished Nonno of David Fonseca (Madalyn), Daniel Fonseca (Melissa), and Caitlin Dermott. Nicola will be remembered with much love and fondness by his family near and far, friends, neighbours, and church family. Nicola loved his family and friends dearly and always remembered to call on special occasions such as birthdays or namesake days. Our father was a talented tailor who learned this fine art in Italy. Once living in Toronto, he worked as a tailor with Sainthill Levine Uniforms for many years. He was the finest tailor making uniforms for the Canadian Armed Forces, Judges, Lawyers, and the Toronto Police Service to name a few. Nicola was always a sharp dresser, loved listening to music and adored making us laugh. Our beautiful father was a very humble, calm, and respectful gentleman. He will be greatly missed by his family and by all who were blessed to know him.

We are so grateful and full of appreciation. Thank you so very much.

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 4671 York Regional Rd 7, Woodbridge (just West of Pine Valley Dr.) on Thursday, December 29th from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 30th at 10:00 am at St. Wilfrid’s Catholic Church, 1675 Finch Ave West, North York. Entombment will immediately follow at Westminster Cemetery and Mausoleum, 5830 Bathurst St, North York.

Memorial Donations, if desired, in lieu of flowers may be made to the Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care or the March of Dimes.
