In Loving Memory of Nicasio (Nick) Cecala of Brampton, Ontario – The World’s Greatest Dad, Nonno, and Barber

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nick Cecala, who left us on October 28, 2023, at the young age of 71, passing away due to cardiac arrest in the comfort of his own home. Nick's departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who cherished him, including his former wife, children, and in-laws, Calogera (Musea) Lo Cascio-Cecala, Bibiana Cecala, and Giovanni Cecala & Joanna Cecala. He will also be greatly missed by his adored grandchildren, Vera Lynn Petkovski & Christopher Bisnath, Lucas McLean, Maximiliano Cecala, and Valentina Cecala, whom he held dear in his heart.

He was a beloved brother to his siblings, Giuseppe (Pino) Cecala, Luigi Cecala, Antonietta Cecala, Giovanna Cecala, and Lina Cecala, and a cherished uncle to all his nieces and nephews.

For many years, Nick served as a Barber in Brampton, practicing his craft at Bramalea City Centre's Belleza Unisex (formerly known as Tony's Studio Hair Salon). The salon wasn't just a place of work, it was a second home to him. His colleagues and clients, spanning over three decades, will remember Nick as a fatherly figure and a dear friend. His infectious humor and warm heart touched the lives of all who knew him.

Nick's legacy extends beyond the haircutting chair. He was a beacon of happiness, always striving to put a smile on the faces of those he loved. Determined to maintain those smiles, his life's mission was to bring happiness to both those he held dear and those who cherished him.

In honor of Nick's memory, we will be accepting donations to establish an annual scholarship for select schools across the Greater Toronto Area, with the aim of nurturing the next generation of barbers and hairstylists. This endeavor will ensure that Nick's passion for his craft lives on, inspiring others to follow in his footsteps and share their hearts and talents with the world.
