Neil Fitzgerald 1935-2024

Passed peacefully, surrounded by family, at the Etobicoke General Hospital on Monday, April 15, 2024, at the age of 88.

Beloved husband of Joyce Margaret (nee Knott) for 65 years. Cherished father of David John (Ana Maria), Judith Louise, and Peter Neil (Christie).

Will be lovingly remembered by grandchildren Christopher John Thomas, Elizabeth Louise, Winston Neil, Maxwell Peter, and great-granddaughter Maria Yolanda, and Daphne (close family friend).

Sadly, missed by brother-in-law Jeff (and his wife the late Judith). Survived by niece Katharine, nephew Stuart (Sharon), and by great-nieces Amelia and Penny, and great-nephew James.

Neil had a successful career as a Designer in the aircraft industry, spanning 45 years starting as an apprentice at A.V.ROE in the U.K on the Vulcan Bomber, culminating as Structural Chief at de Havilland Aircraft in Canada on the Dash 8 Turboprop aircraft.

Neil volunteered his time in the animal therapy program with his dog Chance, to help bring joy to the local LTC Home residents.

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home (Brampton Chapel) 52 Main Street, South Brampton on Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Funeral service will follow in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. with cremation to follow.

As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or to your local Humane Society.
