It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dearest matriarch, Nazaré Fatima De Freitas (née Caldeira). Loving wife to Antonio for 53 wonderful years. Devoted mother to Elizabeth, Sandi (Joe), and Deborah (Johan). Adoring grandmother to Antonio, Layla, Daveed and Scarlett. Nazaré was like a second mother to nephew Joao Armando and niece Maria De Paz. She will be fondly remembered by siblings Armando, Dolores and José Santos. She is now reunited with parents Armando and Maria, and siblings Nazaré, Inês, Bernardo and Maria Jose.
Nazaré was born May 13, 1944 in Monte, Madeira, Portugal and grew up as one of eight children. She married the love of her life Antonio on January 10, 1970 and moved to Canada just five days later to start their life together.
Nazaré was a devoted housewife and mother who always made sure her loved ones had what they wanted or needed before herself. She enjoyed spending her time in her garden and cooking for her family. She and Antonio took great pride in establishing their home, and loved to spend as much time together as they could, as well as with their grandchildren.
Our grief over losing Nazaré is infinite, and our loving memory of her will always remain in our hearts.
Donations may be made in Nazaré's name to the Canadian Cancer Society and UNICEF.
