In Loving Memory of Nancy Ocampo
May 24, 1948 – April 22, 2025
A Life of Strength, Love, and Legacy
It is with heavy hearts that we celebrate the life of Nancy Ocampo—a devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and a woman whose strength and warmth made a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.
Born in Calabria, Italy, Nancy was the daughter of Zoraida Rinaldi and Friedrich Schneider, whose parents were refugees who fled Calabria during World War II, escaping the Nazis. They first sought refuge in Bolivia, eventually settling in Mendoza, Argentina. Nancy embarked on a courageous journey that defined her life.
In 1964, she married Genaro Ocampo, and together they had three children: Omar, Mabel, and Ivan.
After raising her children on her own in Argentina with extraordinary resilience and grace, Nancy immigrated once again—this time to Toronto, Canada in 1984. She embraced every challenge that came with starting anew: learning English, completing high school, and earning her diploma in Hairdressing and Cosmetology. She found great joy in her career and in creating a new life for herself and her family.
A gifted seamstress and creative soul, Nancy had a love for manual work and took pride in everything she did. She was the proud and loving grandmother of Mikaela, Gabriela, Natalia, Nicole, Nadia, Melina, Jayla, Tristan, and Padic.
Nancy’s story is one of courage, perseverance, and unwavering love. She was a true warrior in every sense, and her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
