It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing away of our beloved mother, at home on May 14, 2010, in her 84th year, surrounded by her loving family. Nan was a devoted wife to Don, who predeceased her in June 2003. Left to celebrate her life and her love are her daughters Susan, Wendy (Alan), Nancy (Tom), her grandchildren Katherine (Kevin), Matt, Kassi (Jason), Brandon, Heather, and awaiting the birth of her great granddaughter Claire. Nan will also be missed by her cherished friend George. Nan was a Christian person who believed in giving back, in sharing, in trying to do the best for everyone. She was incredibly loyal and supportive of her family. Her parents Robert and Elizabeth adored her. Nan had many dear and close friends, far too many to be named. Mom would want to express her love for the companionship of all these dear friends. Nan was a charter member of Applewood United Church. Nan’s family wishes to recognize the extraordinary kindness and dedication of her caregivers, especially Cindy. A celebration of Nan’s life will be held at St. Paul’s United Church ,454 Rebecca Street, Oakville, on Wednesday May 19, 2010 at 11am. Reception to follow. There will be a private family interment. In lieu of flowers Nan’s family would greatly appreciate donations to St. Paul’s United Church Oakville, or the Canadian Cancer Society.
