Muriel had a loving and compassionate heart; she was good at listening and a trusted confidant. Her beautiful smiles and hugs seemed to warm our hearts.
She had a great love for her husband, family, and friends, and over the years sacrificed a lot for many of them. She also had a deep love for God, looked forward to church service each week, to singing in the lady’s choir, as well as to attending various church social events.
Muriel greatly enjoyed art and creativity in its various forms, her favourites being painting, crocheting, and embroidery. She truly loved to gift others with the things she laboured so hard to create. Music was dear to her heart also, and she especially enjoyed singing and dancing with her husband, Ron.
She was a hard worker from a very young age, and often found it difficult to just sit and relax, without attending to some project or chore, such as mending or crocheting.
Whether she was cozy at home, at the cottage, or traveling, she was happy and content just to be with her beloved husband. When dementia began stealing memories of Ron, she decided to move to the nursing home to be with him. When covid raised its wicked head, and lockdowns separated them, she tried so hard to hold on to her memories and grieved as they continued to slip away. Dementia was a challenge to Muriel in many ways, and she fought hard against each new advance, with two of her greatest battles being memory and speech.
After 5 heart attacks, multiple mini strokes, 2 broken hips and many other health issues, she worried about us grieving too much and began trying to prepare our hearts for when she was gone. She struggled with the words as she tried to explain that she was so lonely for her husband, and that she was worn out, and wanted so badly to go.
In the afternoon of December 13th, 2021, she was finally set free to go and rest with her beloved husband, Ron. She, her smiles and hugs will all be greatly missed by so many.
Due to Covid restrictions, the visitation and funeral services are private. The family has provided the opportunity to view the LiveStream service from the comfort of your own home. This link will become available at the time of the service.
