Mike Wyslobicky

Died peacefully on Thursday, December 24, 2015 in his 92nd year. Predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Jessie Wyslobicky (nee STURBY). He will be greatly missed by his two sons Michael and Dennis and their wives Susan and Irene. A loving Dido to grandchildren Nicola, Janine, Shane, Perry and Melody. Mike is also predeceased by his parents Andrew and Katarina, and his siblings Anna and Joseph, all of Bodnariw, Ukraine. Mike was a longtime member of the Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral of St. Vladimir in Hamilton. He worked for many years in Hamilton at STELCO’s Twenty Inch Mill, where he was known as “Smiley”, and at INCO in Sudbury before that. Special thanks to the staff at Juravinski Hospital F5 for their recent support. Visitation at Ward Funeral Home, 109 Reynolds Street in Downtown Oakville (near Lakeshore and Trafalgar) on Tuesday December 29 from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. On Wednesday, December 30th, at the St. Volodymyr Cultural Centre Chapel in Oakville (1280 Dundas Street West, just east of Third Line), visitation at 10:00 a.m. followed by Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m., with Father William Makarenko officiating. Interment to follow on site at St. Volodymyr Ukrainian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or the Canada Ukraine Foundation – Ukraine Rebuilding Fund would be appreciated.
