It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Angelo Zentil at the age of 67 after a courageous five-year battle with sarcoma.
Michael passed away peacefully in his home on November 2, 2024, with his loving wife by his side. Michael was a loved and respected person in so many ways. He had a commanding personality. He was always willing to drop anything to lend a hand to his loved ones, as well as anyone in need. He was a rock of stability and pillar of strength for his whole family.
Michael was the beloved son of Dino and Rosalie Zentil. He was born on Saturday June 8, 1957, and joined his departed loved ones in Heaven on Saturday November 2, 2024. He is survived by his wife Ivana, daughters Natasha (Greg) and Amanda, granddaughters Amelia and Hazel, and siblings Tino, Dina, Rita, Marc and Richard, alongside a large devoted extended family.
Following university, Michael trained as a plumber, and together with his father and partner Valerio, started their own business. He was dedicated to its success and embraced the responsibility to be a good steward of it. Together with his partners, he was able to guide it and grew a small business into a successful mechanical contracting company.
For all he accomplished professionally his greatest achievement and source of happiness was his family. He enjoyed 43 years of marriage to his high school sweetheart, and together they share two daughters and two granddaughters. He spent every day showering his family with love, wished only for their happiness and gave his children the freedom to follow their passions.
Michael had a magnetic personality and was fun to be around. His numerous life-long friendships are a testament to the type of man he was. His integrity, hospitality, kindness, generosity, loyalty and sense of humour attracted people from all walks of life. When you were his friend, you were his friend for life.
We would like to extend a special thank you to the team of doctors, nurses and care givers who supported him during the past five years.
In lieu of flowers, Michael would like donations made to research for sarcoma at Princess Margaret through the Canadian Sarcoma Research and Clinical Collaboration (CanSaRCC) Fund.
