It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Michael after a courageous battle with cancer. He will be forever remembered by his beloved wife Yvonne, daughter Ally and step-daughter Dominic. He is survived by his father John “Jack” Mitchell of Vancouver as well as his sister Judy, his brother Stephen (Susan), his brother-in-law Francois (Denise) and sister-in-law Frances (Rene). Michael was predeceased by his mother Mildred. He will also be missed by his extended family members and many dear friends. Michael was a generous, kind, charismatic and understanding man who always put the needs of others before his own. His non judgmental character and warm heartedness are some of the things that attracted people to him. He was a devoted soccer dad and will always be Ally’s hero. A special thanks goes to the loving staff and volunteers at Bethell House who made it possible for Michael to live his final days with peace and dignity. At Michael’s request, there will be no public visiting or service.
