Michael John Manley

August 28, 1950 – February 7, 2024

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Michael John Manley on February 7, 2024.

Michael’s life was well-lived. He was kind, brilliant and had an amazing sense of humour that always brightened the day.

Michael was the proud father of Julian and Evelyn and Julian’s partner, Sarah Dunne. He was a passionate grandparent to Bowie and was awaiting the day when Bowie would decide whether he would call him Grandpa, or Pops, or whatever Bowie wanted.

Michael was a devoted son to the late William and Barbara Manley. He was the second eldest in a large, loving family and will be missed every day by his siblings: Bill and his wife Debbie Woodman; Christine and her husband Brian Ennis; Tom and his late wife Jane; Kathleen and her husband Fabian Ennis; Margaret and her husband Kelvin Kucey; and Patrick and his wife Ann Lomax.

Michael was step-grandfather to Sarah’s daughter, Bird, and uncle, great uncle, nephew, cousin and dear friend to many, many people who will miss his quick wit, his slow smile, and his twinkling eyes. Whether he was strumming his guitar, drafting a beautiful piece of poetry to compliment a family milestone, or seeking the perfect poker hand, Michael pursued a life of quiet contemplation, harmony and peace and he gave that gift to everyone around him.

Charitable donations in Michael's memory may be made to the Salvation Army. Michael never failed to lend a hand or a dollar in support of others and he loved a good deal at the Sally Ann.
