A beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend Michael (Mike) Ballay, 72 years of age, died peacefully with his wife and family by his side on December 18th, 2017. Mike was born in Toronto on Nov 20th 1945, and is the youngest son of and predeceased by Steven and Katherine (Balon) Ballay. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Michelle, sister Pauline Kobos, daughters Stephanie (Josh Whitworth) and Krystine Ballay (Anna Falacho), and granddaughters, Claire and Emma Whitworth. Mike worked as a Cargo supervisor for KLM Royal Dutch Airlines for 31 years. He loved and cared about his family and did everything for them, from family vacations to driving them all over town, he did everything with a smile. Mike was a kind and gentle sole, he enjoyed watching sports on TV or just quietly reading the newspaper. As a child he was a bit more mischievous getting into trouble by playing many pranks on his aunt and uncle during his summers helping on his uncle's farm. Mike will be remembered fondly by those whose lives he touched, for his calm and gentle nature, family values, and his warm and loving personality. Visitation will be held on on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Ward Funeral Home, 52 Main St S, Brampton L6W 2C5 from 2-4 p.m and 6-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 22, 2017 in the chapel of Ward funeral home. Interment to follow at Brampton Memorial Gardens, 10061 Chinguacousy Rd, Brampton, ON L7A 0H6. Family and friend are invited to join us for a lunch to honor Michael following the Interment at St Pauls United Church, Sanderson Hall, 30 Main Street S (at the corner of Main Street and John), Brampton L6W 2C4. Parking at St Pauls United church is limited, options include road parking, 16 John Street (apartment building) or underground at Brampton City Hall. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to Parkinson Canada (www.parkinson.ca) would be welcomed by the family.
