Mervin Beetham

Merv passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Amica Peel Village retirement home in Brampton on January 16th 2020 at the age of 87.
Merv was the beloved husband of the late Rita Beetham.
He was the loving father to Mark (Kathy), Matthew (Lynda), Rachel (Ian), and the cherished grandfather of Alex, Scott, Christopher, Nicholas, Reid, Brie and Myles.
He was the dear brother of Doris Lefebvre and the late Joy Jeffery, and the much-loved uncle to all his nieces and nephews.
Merv was born in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, and he moved to Toronto as a young boy. While raising a family and having a career as a structural steel Draftsman in the big city, he also loved the North and the outdoors, taking his children and their friends camping, fishing, and canoeing. Merv loved animals, the house always had a dog, cat, or both. His time spent with his grandchildren, playing in the camper van, trips to Dairy Queen or Niagara Falls will always be fondly remembered.
We, his children, wish to thank all the medical staff and caregivers that provided caring assistance and support for Dad during the course of his disease with Alzheimer's.
Visitation will be held on Friday January 24th between 6:00 and 9:00 PM at the Ward Funeral Home, 52 Main St. South Brampton ON, L6W 2C5
A private family gathering to celebrate Merv’s life and legacy will take place at a later date.
Memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Toronto Humane Society would be gratefully accepted.
