Melvin P. Davidson
A retired Mechanical Engineer for Toronto Transit Commission passed away unexpectedly at his home in Hamilton, Ontario on November 16, 2021 at the age of 67.

Mel is survived by his children, (Lynne, Jennifer, Jessica, and Nicole); his grandchildren (Charday and Rhèvaun); his brothers (Tony and Carl); his sisters (Mauline, Donna, Susan, Paola, and Marie). He is predeceased by his sister (Losmin) and his mother and father.

Mel was born in St. Ann Parrish, Jamaica on June 19, 1954, to the late Robert and Hyacinth Davidson. He followed his parents and siblings to England when he was five years old and later travelled to Canada with his family, when he was eight. He became a Canadian Citizen on February 14, 1977.

Mel is a graduate of Monarch Park Collegiate Institute, where he also enjoyed playing football as the team's quarterback. At the age of 21, he was hired by the TTC as a Driver. Throughout his career he worked hard to move up through the ranks to become a mechanical and electrical engineer before retiring.

Mel's favourite hobbies included, rebuilding computers, troubleshooting and repairing Honda vehicles, photography, and roller-skating. He enjoyed all types of music, including classical and funk, and he especially loved music he could dance roller-skate to. He continued roller-skating well into retirement, and could often be found working as a Safety Guard at Scooters roller rink in Mississauga.

Mel will be deeply missed by those closest to him, for he was loved.
