Melbourne ‘Jeannie’ McDonald, 79, of North York, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at the Humber River Hospital, after an extended illness. Born in Spanish Town, Jamaica, he was the second son of the late Jonathan and Louise McDonald.

Survived by his 7 children, Carol (Kevin) of Pickering; Rose Marie of Scarborough; Michael (Michelle) of St. Thomas, Jamaica; Elise of Spanish Town, Jamaica; Paul (Dawn) of Ohio, U.S.A.; Marie of Spanish Town, Jamaica; Lisa of Brampton; his many grandchildren and great grandchildren (with one on the way); sister Eutil of Ohio, USA; brother Leroy of North York; brother Lauriston of Georgia, U.S.A.; nieces Claudette ‘Jean’ Haynes, Donna, Kelly, Althea, Isha and Iman. Pre-deceased by brother Fitzalbert and nephew Russell.

A proud Jamaican Canadian, Jeannie loved his family, friends, music, and sports (especially cricket and basketball). He also enjoyed parties and was one of Spanish Town’s best dancers. The life of the party!

He will always be fondly remembered and loved.

Visitation and Funeral Service will be held at Ward Funeral Home. The wearing of masks is mandatory.

Visitation is on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, from 4 pm to 8 pm. The Funeral Service is in the Chapel on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at 10:30 am, followed by interment at Beechwood Cemetery.
