With great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mary Frances (Maureen) Vukobratich (nee O’Hagan, formerly Murphy) on January 31 2022 at the age of 88. Her passing is the result of a serious fall that was just too much for her to overcome. She is predeceased by her parents James and Sarah (McGinn) O’Hagan, her sister Patricia Tracey, her husbands, Joseph Murphy (1979) and Frank Vukobratich (2014) and her daughter Patricia (Petra) Murphy. She is survived by her children Joseph (Pauline) Murphy of Milton ON, Celeste (Fred) Guse ofIroquois ON and Karen Campbell of Richmond BC, 6 Grandchildren: Denise, Jacqueline, Colin, Stephanie,Matlock, andKate along with 11 great grandchildren and a 12th due any day now.
Her journey of life took her from Vancouver, where she was born and raised, to St. Jean Que with the Royal Canadian Air Force. It was there that she met her first husband Joe. Several moves and four children later, they settled down in Toronto and then on to Windsor. After being widowed in 1979, her work with the Federal Government took her to Timmins where she would meet her second husband Frank. A final government posting brought them to Sault Ste Marie. After a few years of retirement in the Soo, they moved to Milton to be closer to family. Unfortunately, she was widowed a second time in 2014 after which she moved into Birkdale Place retirement home.
She will be missed by her many friends in Sault Ste Marie and at Birkdale.
We would like to especially thank the doctors and nurses at Milton District Hospital who cared for her so compassionately these past few weeks.
In lieu of flowers please consider donating to one of her favourite charities, Catholic Christian Outreach (in support of her Granddaughter Jacqueline Lavery) Jackie Lavery - CCO or Birthright of Brampton Birthright of Brampton.
To safely manage and adhere to current social distancing requirements, please RSVP for the Visitation and Mass. Wearing of masks or face coverings by everyone remains mandatory as per provincial regulations.
