With the heaviest of hearts, we announce the passing of our dear Mother Maureen Elizabeth Buck (nee Taylor) on Friday, December 23, 2022, after a brief illness. Mom succumbed to complications related to her cancer treatments. Maureen was predeceased by all her brothers and sisters; James Taylor (Dorothy), Eveline Dorey (Edward), (George), Earl Taylor (Bernadette), Margaret Freeman (James), and Eileen Taylor.
Maureen is sorely missed by her children; Rod (Karen), Leanne, David (Rhonda), and Lorna. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren; Lauren Kamington (Sherry), Jordan Leuthel, Kaitlin Buck (Ryan), Angela Tanner (Lee), Brandon Buck (Rhi), and Michael Chippett (Justine).
Maureen's strong sense of values and virtues were her cornerstone. She was so happy to see relationships flourish and welcomed our "Blended Families" wholeheartedly, and with this her many great-grandchildren; Mataya, Julia, Ali, Erin, Sydney, Grant, Barrett, Eddie and Emma.
Maureen forged friendships through her many years working at Humber College, as well as her involvement with St. John Fisher Catholic Church.
As a devout follower she never missed a chance to give thanks. With that being said, Maureen loved the Christmas season. Yes, the house was decorated inside and out; but it was the Christmas cards that she loved. A chance to reconnect with those loved ones who were now at a distance. Fitting but sad, we will be remembering Mom this, and every Christmas.
Our heartfelt thanks to all of Mom's many caregivers who worked tirelessly to heal and then to comfort her.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John Fisher Roman Catholic Church on Saturday December 31st, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
