Master Khaleel Alfred-Fenton

On June 2, 1997 when I named my son Khaleel meaning special friend of God I prophetically spoke over his life.

The word “friend” is defined as a person you know well and regard with affection and trust

As the seed of God’s word was planted in Khaleel’s heart I watched it grow and begin to bear fruit.

I watched my baby begin to pray God’s word, speak declarations over his life and suit up for spiritual warfare

I watched Khaleel sweetly say throughout the day “Lord, I just love you” and I would look over thinking “who is this child?”

As parents we want the best for our children.

“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

Yet sometimes there seems to be a disconnection and even reversal of what we’re training and what our children manifest

When Khaleel was up and about, I would tell Khaleel to do something and ten minutes later I would yell (yes I do yell) “Khaleel!” and he would jump and say “Oh Yah!” and scurry off to the task at hand.

Or he would be outside from the crack of dawn to way PAST dusk taking shots and posting up and after numerous attempts to get him inside I would stand at the front door and sternly say “Boy” and he would bolt past me all sweaty smelling like the sun.
Anyone who was in Khaleel’s presence knew he was different, cut by a different mold.

A mold that I cannot take any credit for.

A mold that was crafted upon Khaleel’s heart before he was knitted in my womb.

He was different.

Outspoken, fearless, mixed with a little trini-crazy, Khaleel did and said the unexpected and pushed back boundaries and roadblocks with ease.

He would create a calypso at the drop of a dime or appoint himself legal counsel for children ‘he felt’ were unjustly treated.

“It’s not fair mommy!” he would say with his nose all wrinkled up and droplets forming on the bridge of his nose.

Khaleel LIVED!

From swimming in the oceans of Ghana to basking in the sun of Tobago, Khaleel enjoyed life!

The legacy Khaleel has left us is international, non-demonational, generational, ageless and timeless!

“We can do this mommy! I AM more than a conqueror!”

I have been privileged to experience the joy of Khaleel for 12 indescribable years.

The lessons I have learnt are not taught in institutions and the faith that has been birthed is only birthed through the fire.

And so I stand here this morning eternally grateful.

The last 23 months have stretched every facet of my being both carnally and spiritually.

I stand here this morning with such a since of peace; Peace that surpasses all understanding (Isaiah 26:3)

I stand here this morning with joy unspeakable and full of glory (1 Peter 1:8)

I stand here this morning with an intimate knowledge of having strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me.

Knowing that I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses inner strength into me;

I AM self-sufficient in Christ's sufficiency. (Philippians 4:12-14)

I stand here this morning humbled by the honor of being Khaleel’s mother.

Khaleel taught me what it means to "Fear not, for God is with me” Isaiah 41:10

Khaleel taught me “to walk by faith not sight” 2 Corinthians 5:7 AMP

Khaleel taught me to "Be still, and know that He is God" Psalm 46:10

And so I stand here this morning eternally grateful.

I know with all that is in me that my baby is dancing with Angels and in the Loving arms of our Lord.

Regardless of the situation, Khaleel is more than a conqueror and gains a surpassing victory through Him who loves Him. (Rom 8:37)
DANCE IN THE HEAVENLIES BABY DANCE!

Khaleel’s life will eternally be motivational and a catalyst for change.

He has pushed us into the next dimension of Excellence, Courage, Love and relentless Faith.

It is my heart that Khaleel’s legacy will be a call to excellence for our youth.

At this time I humbly ask all young people between the ages of 10-21 to stand.
