MARY E MOORE
Mary Elizabeth Moore, 93 years, of Weston, Ont. passed away peacefully while lounging in her lazyboy on October 26, 2013.
The funeral service will be held at Ward Funeral Home, Weston Road Chapel on October 31st at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be held at the funeral home starting at noon prior to the service. Cremation has taken place and Mom’s ashes will be reunited with Dad at the Paris, Ontario Conservation Park in the spring.
Mary was born in Toronto on May 7, 1920 was married to Gordon, her high school sweetheart, on November 2, 1940; they were married for 58 years at the time of Gordon’s passing on April 2, 1999.
Mary worked as an executive assistant for many years with the Salvation Army and English Electric Valve Company. She enjoyed playing bingo, card games, slot machines, and baking wedding cakes, and was also actively involved in the Ladies Auxillary of the Royal Canadian Legion (past President) and volunteered many hours at York West Meals on Wheels.
Mary is survived by her four sons and their wives: Gordon & Hazel, Douglas & Lynne, Ross & Julia and Ron & Joanne, and grandchildren: Bevin (Renata), Serena (Greg), Christopher, Steve (Nichole), Adrienne (Debashis), Scott (Ann), Kathryn (Dan), Richard (Crissy), Gregory, Shannon, Tracy (Ken), Shawn (Alisha), Michael (Kim), Amanda (Casey), James (Janay), Ken, Lauren, Kyle, Jordanna, Shelby, Ashley & Cody; and 21 great grandchildren.
Mary is preceded in death by her daughter Helen (1994), granddaughter Jennifer (1984), brothers George, Albert & Gordon, and sisters Alice & Beatrice.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to War Amps of Canada or to the charity of your choice. The family of Mary wishes to thank Rosa Ortiz and the staff of St. Hilda’s Towers for the wonderful care she has enjoyed in the past four years.
