Affectionately known as Ching or Chingaling

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mary Elona Octavia Mac Donald, affectionately known as Ching or Chingaling. Mary departed this life peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering dedication to her family and community.

Mary is survived by her husband, Philbert Martelly, and her cherished children, Ives Fricot (Nadine Eugene), Preston Martelly (Indra Rambaran), and Yandi Martelly (Kirk Blue). Step children Marcia Martelly-Levy (Henry Levy), Philbert Jr. Martelly, Lance Martelly (Carmen Martelly), Shaun Martelly (Pamela Martelly) and Ivan Martelly (Alicia Martelly). She was a proud and doting grandmother to her beloved grandchildren: Tasha, Kyle, Shanelle, Kyle, Kyanna, Jayden, Damian, Jasmine, Xavier, Gizelle, and Sophia, who brought immense joy to her life.

A nurturing and loving mother, Mary extended her warmth far beyond her own family, embracing the friends and families of her children as if they were her own. Her home was always a place of comfort, laughter, and togetherness, embodying the spirit of community and love she held so dear. She had a profound affection for her extended family, cherishing the moments of unity and celebration they shared.

Mary faced life’s challenges with grace, compassion, and an unshakable sense of humor. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and selflessness that will be treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

While we mourn her passing, we take comfort in knowing that Mary is free from illness and earthly struggles. Her vibrant spirit now soars, and we believe she is joyously reunited with loved ones who have gone before her.
