Mary Anne Nickerson
May 18th, 1938 – April 27th, 2020
On the morning of Monday, April 27th we sadly said goodbye to Mary Anne Nickerson, who passed away peacefully at Baycrest Hospital. Mary Anne was predeceased by her husband, Basil Ennis Nickerson, who fought bravely in the Canadian Military as well as her oldest daughter Debra Anne Nickerson. Loving mother to Melissa Nowlan, Alanna Nickerson, Sandra Faulds, and Dennis Nickerson. Grandmother to Valeria Nowlan, Robert Nickerson, Cody Nickerson, Brianna Nickerson, Caitlan Nickerson, Travis Nickerson, Natasha Nickerson, Samantha Ryckman, Amanda Nickerson, Justin Faulds, Wesley Butler, Bradley Nickerson and Candace Pérez Romero. Great Grandmother to Elias Francois-Clarke, Nava Francois-Clarke, Jaysean Sewell, Jayla Sewell, Raina Nickerson-Williams, Brooklyn Butler, Aspen Butler, Sophia Nickerson, Valentina Pérez Romero, Kayleen Jiménez Arias, and Nathan Nickerson.
Mary Anne could be described as a happy loving woman with a caring heart; her love extended to many people blood and nonblood related. Mary’s love also extended to animals where she found comfort connecting with them. Mary also spent many hours on her favourite hobby which was making necklaces which she enjoyed giving away to brighten up people’s spirits. Mary never let a special occasion pass without the absence of a card making sure she added a variety of stickers as an added touch of love. Mary enjoyed being involved in one way or another, always had to know what was happening within the community. Mary was fascinated by seasonal storms where she was known for spending numerous hours on her balcony watching them as they came and went. Overall, Mary always gave what she could and never expected anything in return.
A private family service will be held at Ward Funeral (2035 Weston Road), with cremation following. In memory of Mary Anne, the family wishes for donations to be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in her honour.
