MARY ANN PARKER (NEE STURRUP) April 14, 1923 -- September 18, 2009 Died peacefully, with her sons and grandson at her side. In her 87th year, she left behind a lifetime of treasured memories, adventures and achievements. Amongst her most valued possessions was a myriad of lifelong friends who meant so much to her. Always a devoted mother to her sons Steven and Michael, she also put great energy and thought into nurturing the well being of her grandchildren Kimberly and Justin and his wife Gemma. She had a special place in her heart and was filled with pride for her great grandson Nicolas. She leaves her brothers Jimmie Sturrup and Penny, Ralph Sturrup and Minna, and their children and grandchildren. She loved to travel and although she had been around the world, she was always anxious to plan and get on with the next adventure. As an accomplished and successful business person in her own right, her energy, determination and sound counsel will be greatly missed. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 26, 2009 at the Ward Funeral Home, 109 Reynolds St., Oakville (www.wardfuneralhome.com). The family would like to say thank you to the very special staff on the 4th floor at OTMH for their exceptional care, concern and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary Ann's memory may be made to The Leukemia Society or to Ian Anderson House, Oakville.
