Marjorie Gertrude Clandon (nee McGaghey) was born in Liverpool, England on November 30, 1919 and left us on December 13, 2014.
She married Eric Clandon (who predeceased her) on December 26, 1941 and they had four children. Erica was their firstborn, followed two years later by triplets Margaret, Susan and Keith. Quite a feat in 1947 and she often said that caring for us was the best time of her life. A wonderful and generous mother who would willingly do without so that her children could have. She enjoyed the arts and made sure that she took us on special outings, not letting the task of chaperoning 4 children stand in her way. An example would be her loading us all on the bus and taking us to see the latest Hollywood film (usually a musical.). After we got settled in our seats, out of her bag would come sandwiches and drinks for all of us. As an extra special treat she would buy us all an ice cream during the intermission.
Marjorie was small in stature but a force to be reckoned with. If she made up her mind about something, that was it! She was a woman who stood by her convictions one hundred percent - even if no-one else agreed with her. She had a quick wit and a sharp sense of humour which she carried with her for her 95 years.
She emigrated to Canada when she was 70 years of age and spent most of that time residing in Oakville.
Amongst other things, she loved her family, her beloved England, sunshine, birds, flower gardens, walking, reading, riding her bicycle (which she did until she was 80), smoking a cigarette, enjoying a glass of wine or gin and tonic as well as a good, hot, strong cup of tea!
We are sure Marjorie will make her mark in Heaven as she did here on Earth. She is
loved very much by her family and will be missed immensely.
May she find peace.
Night night, God Bless.
