MARION AMY COPPING

March 24, 1922 – October 21, 2016

With sadness we announce the passing of our dear Marion. Daughter of the late Hubert and Amy Barnett, Marion was married to the late William Thomas Copping and was the cherished Mother of Bert (Jeanette), Craig (Donna), and Holly (Richard). Loving Grandmother to Rebecca (Alireza), Bradley (deceased), Melissa (Matthew), Douglas, Dawn (Dave), Charles (Megan) and Christopher. Proud Great Grandmother to Sebastian, Aveline, Cameron, Carter and Cole. Predeceased by her dear siblings Turner, Helen, Grace, and Jim. Marion leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, dear friends, and her cherished bridge club ladies.

Marion was born in Cobalt, Ontario and spent her life in numerous small towns that she always fondly talked about and shared stories of, including Hawk Lake, Matachewan, North York and finally Brampton.

Marion had timeless elegance and impeccable taste that could be seen in her beautiful home adorned with fine china and antiques. Everything had a story behind it that was just as impressive as the object itself. She was the unique mix of lady and nature woman; spending much of her time at her cottage in Huntsville, canoeing in Weeduck Lake (that she named herself), gardening, cross country skiing, woodworking in her shop, bird watching, riding her Kubota tractor, hiking to Pinnacle Peak and spending time with her family and friends. Not only did Marion love and appreciate nature, but she also adored animals – especially horses. Marion cheered for the “Maple Buds” and the Blue Jays and rarely missed a game.

The love Marion had for her family and friends was everlasting. She was truly one of a kind. Her loyalty, honesty, deep kindness, quick wit, and boundless energy kept her ever young.

Marion was talented at so many things, but was always humble about what she accomplished. She touched so many lives and had such a positive impact on her family, friends, and her community. She lives on in all of us that we were fortunate enough to have met her. Marion, you will be dearly missed, but always remembered, and your special stories will continue to be told with great pride for all generations to come.

A Memorial will be held at the Devil’s Pulpit Golf Course, 3035 Escarpment Sideroad, Caledon, Ontario on Saturday, October 29th, from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m . Lunch will be served. In lieu of flowers please donate to a charity of your choice. Please visit the book of memories at www.wardfuneralhome.com
