Marilyn Tudge (nee High), passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the Westbury Long Term Care Residence, Etobicoke on June 14, 2019 at the age of 83. Born to the late Gordon and Gertrude High, in St. Catharines, Ontario. Predeceased by her husband Wayne.
Survived by her daughters and son-in-laws – Carolyn Tsimenidis (Tom), Sandra Tudge (John Richards), and Elaine Pontone (Dan) and her beloved grandchildren – Sarah and Christian Tsimenidis, Madeline and Nicholas Pontone, and Evan, Abigail and Victoria Richards. Cherished sister and sister-in-law to Ralph (late) High, Barbara and James (late) Troyan, Susan (late) and Haven Lethby, and Paul (late) and Arlene High and loving sister-in-law of Lorna and Glyn (late) Butler. Marilyn was the caring Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Marilyn graduated from the Mack Training School for Nurses in 1957 and enjoyed an over 40- year nursing career, many of those years spent working in the neonatal unit at Sick Kids Hospital. Married to Wayne Tudge in 1961, they had three daughters in quick succession and Marilyn stayed at home during their preschool years. Widowed at the age of 42, Marilyn returned to work full-time while raising their daughters. Marilyn’s greatest joy was spending time with her seven grandchildren. She also enjoyed hosting family events, sewing, knitting, travelling, along with her greatest passion, golf.
The family is grateful for the care and support provided by the staff at the Westbury Long Term Care Residence and her caregivers Julie and Tracia. Memorial donations in memory of Marilyn may be made to BridgeWay Family Centre.
