Passed away peacefully at Holland Christian Homes – Grace Manor in the early morning hours of Sunday, February 12, 2012 in her 94th year. Beloved wife of Donald for 68 years. Loving mother of Don and Janet. Devoted grandmother of Dan, Laura (Scott), Melanie, Eric, Kira (Ed) and Adam (Melissa). Cherished great-grandmother of Ethan, Griffin and new arrival Jacob (born Saturday, February 11, 2012). Sister to David Earl “Bud” Cronin (Margaret). Marie was a dedicated volunteer at Peel Memorial Hospital for 45 years. She was also, an avid bowler, Airstream camper, travelling companion and excellent card player. Family and Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home “Brampton Chapel”, 52 Main Street South (Hwy 10), Brampton from 2:30 – 7:00p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2012. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 2:00p.m. at the St. Paul’s United Church, 30 Main Street South (Hwy 10), Brampton. Cremation to follow. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Society, would be appreciated by the family.
