Maria Teresa Falconi (née Ricci)
December 1, 1943-February 3, 2023

Surrounded by the love of her family, Mary passed away peacefully on February 3, 2023, having just celebrated her 79th birthday. All who knew Mary could attest to her love for life, her commitment to family and friends, her love of gardening, and her true warrior mentality. She was often heard saying, “My mind wants to do it, but my body just won’t.” For over 57 years, Mary shared her home and family with her husband and dedicated partner, Gary. Mary’s legacy of love and commitment to family will live on in her children: Lori, Michael, and Kathy (Ryan). She will forever be in the hearts of her granddaughters: Megan and Sarah. The family will always recall her fondness for food, flowers, and ladybugs. Anyone who entered her home was well fed and well cared for; she always had a smile ready and waiting.

Mary was born in Pisterzo, Italy, finding her way to Canada at nine years of age. She was predeceased by her mother Lydia Ricci (née Cappadocia) and Giuseppe “Joe” Ricci. She is tenderly remembered by her brother Tullio Ricci. Mary will be forever in the hearts of her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who she has encountered on her lifelong journey.

Mary had a strong work ethic and made solid contributions to the healthcare field between 1962 and 2017, spanning North Bay, Sudbury, and the GTA.

The family offers a heartfelt thanks to the medical staff they encountered over the last few years – those both in Canada and in the US.

Knowing Mary as we do, we are convinced that she is smiling down at us as she prepares homemade pasta in her heavenly kitchen or plants yet another red rose in God’s garden!

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Maria Teresa Falconi's name to Covenant House, Toronto or the Canadian Cancer Society, would be greatly appreciated by the family.
