It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our beloved mother, Maria Stante. She passed away peacefully on June 29, 2024, at Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital in her 91st year, with her loving family by her side. She is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Nicola (1988).
Loving and devoted mother of Laura (Frank) Alessio and Claudio (Maria) Stante. Proud and cherished Nonna to Emily (David), Christina (Bryce), Steven, Nicole (Kevin), Joseph, and David. Adored great grandmother to Christopher and Alessia.
She will be missed by her brothers Tonino (Angela), Franco (Anna Maria), and all her nephews and nieces in both Canada and Italy, whom she loved dearly. She is predeceased by her parents, Enrico and Anna Caravaggio, and her sisters, Francesca (Giuseppe), Nella, Bice (Donato), and Adele (Donato).
Maria was a woman of faith and was always happiest when she was surrounded by family and friends. Her beautiful smile and heart will be with us forever. We love you, mom!
Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home (4671 Highway 7, Woodbridge) on Sunday, July 7, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at All Saints Parish (1415 Royal York Road, Etobicoke) on Monday, July 8, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery.
